Arts Professional

My name is Kassandra Arroyo (she/her), and I am a rising arts professional with a B.A. in Art History and a minor in Archaeology from the University of Southern California. I have over 7 years of experience in arts leadership and organization, as well as community engagement, and 3 years of experience in museum collections, curation, and research.
I conducted extensive research for my art history pro-seminar class, which concluded in my final paper titled "The Interconnectedness of Mónica Mayer, The Mexican Feminist Art Movement, and Radical Women," which I later presented at the 2025 SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium. Additionally, I participated in a directed reading course with my professor, Hector Reyes, in which we discussed Mexican and Chicano Muralism, graffiti culture, and Latin American Modernism. Lastly, I worked on an archaeology thesis for my minor titled “Object Care and Levels of Environmental Control,” in which I conducted research and met with various collection managers to determine the best handling procedures and environmental controls for art and artifacts.
My professional career has primarily been with non-profit art organizations. I have worked in curation at the USC Fisher Museum and at Sovern LA, in collections at the Italian American Museum, and as an intern at LA Opera. During my five years at LA Opera, I worked in the following departments: Education and Community Engagement, Finance, Public Relations, Marketing, Special Events, and Development. Through these positions, I have learned how to organize important documents, communicate effectively with donors and coworkers, multitask, engage with community members from diverse backgrounds, and perform various administrative tasks.
